Decision
I kept doing so for some time until I went back to college for my graduate study. Because at the mean time, wordpress.com was unreachable. The situation doesn't seem to get any better nowadays. So I have no choice but to give it up.

It's never easy to make a decision like this, for I'm really touched by you guys. Even this blog was updated only once in a year, I've still got approximately a hundred subscribers. Oh, there were someone wanted to contribute to my sharing project here too, Sol Niger, Earl, thanks. And thank you all, metal lives forever!

Since it's new, there are not many posts yet, but I'm going to add more, and open a whole section on metal music there.

Also, I have a plan. I hope some of you can help me with the whole sharing project. Try to be more than a subscriber, be a contributor! Here's how: simply sign up on my new weblog ralphdunn.com and I'll promote your account role to contributor. Then you'll be able to submit post there.
I know, I know, it's not profitable and seldom people would like to do that. But I still have the faith that there were someone like me, willing to share what he/she likes. All they need is a platform to do so. Although this plan may not be mature, I prefer giving it a shot.

I noticed that the most popular post in my blog is the one titled "Line of Beauty and Grace", whose popularity index showed by "popularity contest" is 100%! This is luciferous because the algorithm of the plugin "popularity contest" is, the earlier the article was posted, the lower the popularity.

I started to think why such a post could draw the visitors' attention way more the others. When I reviewed this post, it took me only seconds to figure out why, that's all because of the key words in it. Let's take a look at them: sex, naked... Although this post is not about porn or sexuality, those words do come between the lines.

This is an interesting phenomena, which reminds of another common case that, the top articles in every picture or download-themed website are always those with "hot" titles or contents. I'm not blaming on anyone here, I just find it funny. This reveals the truth about the whole Internet, which is, sex comes first, and everything else is left far behind.

So much for my murmur here, and I'm just wondering whether this post will be popular, or not. By the way, I hope you like the title image with this article in the home page. ^^

However, there's something I've done which can't be ignored. Yep, I've changed the theme for the 3rd time... All of them are amazing, but I just like this one better. The only problem is, you need more time to configure such a theme to make it work the way you want.

Michael, a gifted and productive designer, I've got nothing else to say to you but thanks. You've been doing great jobs all the time. To be honest, Branford is as excellent as Wynton. Since you've got the same taste as mine (Hemingway is an evidence), I would give you all my beautiful words in vocabulary: amazing, incredible, fabulous, etc. Oh, I almost forgot, I already did that days ago. ^^

Long story short, there're two major problems that I have to solve.

1. The 1st one is about WordPress configuration.

It's not that difficult for you normal, rational people, but for such a perfectionist with a paranoid mind like me, it turns out to be a hard job. It's frustrating to say it out loud and confront the real me inside, but it's true. Okay, am I getting away from the topic? Let's get back to the point. Setting up a WordPress weblog is a routine job that anybody's capable of doing, according to the famous 5-minute installation. However, making all the plugins to function correctly is not easy, especially when WordPress has just upgraded its version.

• Some plugins just don't work or can't be activated because of incompatibility.

For example, the popularity contest by Alex King, which shows the most popular posts in your blog. Even though I don't understand how the "popularity" value is calculated for every post, I'd like to use this plugin. But when I tried to activate it, I got an error message from WordPress says "fatal error" or something. If you encountered the same problem as I did, please refer to this post for the solution. You can fix that problem with only one move, or, at most two. ^^

• Ajaxed WordPress is also a tough one to deal with.

There're a lot of options for you to set up, or, maybe I should say, way too many! However, it's not the hardest part. Since AWP(not the AWP when you're playing CS!) exploits a complex way to make things work, it's obviously not easy for people to do the right configuration. I'll explain in detail here. In order to encapsulate every function into a module, Aaron Harun, the author of AWP, decide to split up the whole process of reaching a single into several pieces. I call that option combination. If I'm not making myself clear enough, here is a instance. When a user what to get the threaded comments feature, he has to activate 3 modules and check 2 options! And the related appearance options are not included. Despite the flaws mentioned above, AWP is such an amazing plugin that I can't live without. The inline posts, inline comments, threaded comments and paginated posts are all useful functions to WordPress, and they are only a small part amongst AWP features. All in all, Aaron Harun has done a great job there. My suggestion to this plugin is, make it simple. And then, everybody will like it. At least I suppose so. ^^

2. Where are we now? Oh, here comes the 2nd major problem, the domain name.

Since I'm new to web hosting and using a free space currently, I have to get a top-level domain name. Because even if my free space encounters problems and I have to move to another web hoster, readers like you can always find my new site through the permanent domain name. Thanks to my uncle who lives in U.S., I got this domain from godaddy.com. I'll omit the procedure and go straight to the point - the domain settings. If you're in a similar situation like me, what's told next may help.

• Log in to your account in godaddy and go to "Total DNS Control", add your domain name and the IP address to the A(host) records. You can get that ip address somewhere in your web hosting account.
• Log in to your web hosting account and add your domain name in the "add domain name" field or something like that.
• It's all set. Wait for some time for the changes to take effect.

here's the situation,

1. under the influence of my own country's policy of ban on wordpress.com and the poor network on my campus, i was not able to access this site. but with the help of our holy god (^^), i'm here again. i hope it's not temporary, and i really do. may the mighty lord be here for me all the time.

2. since i had no access to my lovely site, i didn't read many of your comments. i'll do it ASAP and try to respond. would anybody do me a favor? tell me, am i a bad english writer? correct me if i've done anything wrong with the spelling or gramma. thanx a lot. ^^

3. okay, here's how i'm gonna explain the "leecher" thing. originally, i just wanna share what i've got from internet about extreme metal. and then i found the great site www.metalunion.org. but this website seems to have everything in foreign language, so i suppose maybe it's a good idea to turn the information there into english, which is more convenient for the world wide reader. the worst part is, i didn't get their permission to do so, nor did i ask for it. i'm really sorry for that and i apologize, sincerely.

4. from now on, there won't any link from metalunion.org until i'm permitted to get them here. i'll try to upload files myself and also collect some from the forum that i visit frequently.
