You don't know how much I love this album. It's more than great & it's superb. Well-arranged notes & tunes and beautiful riffs with harsh vocals make the melody in there is just like magic. That's what I want to hear & I want more for sure. Strongly recommended.

It's been long since the last time I posted a metal album here. Being busy is just another lame excuse I won't use. The truth is, I don't listen to metal albums much lately. I don't even listen to any music at all.

I haven't gone through this album either, and I'm just glad that this special band got new stuff for us.

Eluveitie - 2006 - Spirit

God knows how I love this band and its stunning melody. I'm so touched by their playing skills, especially on traditional instruments, such as, hurdygurdy... Anyone has any idea of what hurdygurdy is? No? Go wiki yourself and you'll find how incredible this musical equipment is.

But I haven't yet found any band nor album that manages to show the full potential of celtic metal. Cruachan are the most famous, but they just play classic celtic tunes with some growls and metal instruments and sound. Tuatha De Danann are too soft, being like Elvenking, more of a power metal band with some flutes and the like. Mägo de Oz and Saurom Lamderth have some celtic influences and sounds in their music, and I really enjoy the Mägo de Oz covers of some celtic songs, but they are too diverse to be considered pure celtic metal.
But now, we have Eluveitie.

I bet you've never seen so long an EP before. As an EP, this album is with a total playing time up to 1h 8mins!
Moonsorrow managed to keep their epic style of composition. Every song is with a tremendous momentum.
Nothing else needs to be told, cos Moonsorrow is far more than a band name, it's already a shinny brand in the history of extreme metal.

Alestorm is a Scottish band whose lyrics theme focuses on pirates, drinking, adventure, so the music style is often referred to as pirate metal. At first, I heard their latest single "Heavy Metal Pirates" and I was attracted by the melody. So I started to look for their previous works, and here it is. Enjoy!

Eluveitie - 2008 - Slania

I've listened a lot to this album lately, maybe too much. ^^
Only a few bands are able to mix folk with melodic death together and make beautiful sounds, fortunately, Eluveitie is obviously one of them. I just can't imagine a swiss band could play traditional Irish instruments so well...
